About The Foyle Foundation
The Foyle Foundation was formed to implement the terms of the will of the late Christina Foyle. She was the daughter of William Foyle who, with his brother, founded the family owned bookshop Foyles in Charing Cross Road, London, which she continued to manage after her father's death.
The Foyle Foundation was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in May 2000 No. 4006216 and was registered as a charity in July 2000 No. 1081766. The Foundation became fully operational in its Rugby Street offices in the Autumn of 2001.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees who meet regularly throughout the year to consider applications and make decisions on grants. The Trustees are Michael Smith, Roy Amlot, Sir Peter Duffell, Vikki Heywood and Jamie Korner. The Chairman of the Board is Michael Smith. The Foundation's Chief Executive is David Hall.

Medway Open Award Centre
Young people are able to join the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and undertake one of the three levels 14 - Bronze - 16 - Silver and or Gold completing the programme for each level before you reach 25, which includes sections on Volunteering - Physical - Skill - Expedition and at Gold level only a Residential. If you have signed up to a unit within Medway you might want to consider undertaking a Watersports programme that will meet your expectations either because you enjoy paddlesports,sailing, powerboating or feel a need to TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT which could include maintenance objectives and many other options we could discuss. If you are interested please note that all Duke of Edinburgh participants enrolled in a Medway Unit have the option to attend a listed course with up to 10% discount from the published price.
